Pepsi on the BET Net

Published on .

Pepsi-Cola Co. signed as the first advertiser on the Internet site of MSBET, a joint venture of Microsoft Corp. and BET Holdings. Terms weren't disclosed for the deal; Pepsi will use the site to promote Wild Cherry Pepsi.

The msbet.com site is part of MSBET, formed by Microsoft and BET to deliver interactive content and advertising to blacks through the Internet, CD-ROMs and TV. BET is the parent of cable channel Black Entertainment Television. The Web page ad deal follows a Pepsi/BET Web sponsorship: Pepsi recently paired with BET to host a Webcast carried simultaneously on the Web site and on the cable channel.
