PEPSI TO BREAK ADS FOR NEW JUICE-TEA DRINK NEXT MONTH

(July 2, 2001) -- PepsiCo's Pepsi-Lipton partnership will break advertising for its new Matika juice-tea soft drink in August, according to executives close to the brand.

The rollout will cover print, TV and radio work by WPP Group's J. Walter Thompson, New York. The non-carbonated high-end beverage will come in five flavors and will hit select markets in August.

The agency referred calls to Pepsi, which could not be reached Friday evening. -- Hillary Chura
