Hindustan Thompson Associates' spoof for Pepsi employs a Hrithik Roshan look-alike, complete with the clothes he wears and the band on his head. The ad also has a double of the child onlooker of the kissing game.
The 60-second spot starts with a "spin the Pepsi bottle contest" between the Hrithik Roshan double and Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan. The winner of the first round is Hrithik Roshan's character, but when he opens his mouth a gruesome set of braces is revealed and the girl refuses to kiss him.
The child wins the next round but is deemed too young for a kiss. Finally Shahrukh Khan wins, but the girl teases him. She tells him to close his eyes and then walks away with the Pepsi bottle. On seeing his anguish, however, she comes back and kisses him.
Casting Hrithik Roshan as "loser" has raised the ire of many Hrithik fans across the country.
Pepsi says its research has found that Indian teens are increasingly hankering for real romance in their lives.
