Pepsi-Cola Co. signed Irish boy-band Boyzone to a global marketing deal worth $1 million a year to the Dublin-based group. The deal coincides with the release of Boyzone's album "Where We Belong," slated to be launched in June, and will also cover the release of a Boyzone's greatest hits album aimed at the holiday market. The Pepsi deal will also include the band's marketing in Europe and Southeast Asia, and will involve magazine poster giveaways, point-of-purchase marketing and a competition in which winners get to spend time with the group. In 1994, Boyzone signed a limited sponsorship deal with Diet Coke, which ended in 1996.
