Pepsi signs Deion Sanders

Published on .

Dallas Cowboys star Deion Sanders has joined Pepsi-Cola's team of endorsement stars, signing a multiyear, multimillion-dollar contract. Mr. Sanders announced the deal on David Letterman's "Late Show" Tuesday night. The two-sport star, who has played for three football teams and three baseball teams in the past three years, last year appeared in ads for Coca-Cola Co.'s PowerAde sports drink. The Cowboys sparked a controversy in August by granting Pepsi exclusive pouring rights in Texas Stadium, circumventing Coke's status as the official cola of the National Football League.
