PEPSI SUES COKE OVER INDIAN COMMERCIAL

BOMBAY -- PepsiCo. has filed a lawsuit in the Delhi High Court claiming that a commercial for the Coca-Cola Co.'s local cola brand, Thums Up, is deceptively similar to a spot for Pepsi. Pepsi also alleges that the copyright for its tagline, "yeh dil mange more" (the heart wants more), is being violated by Thums Up's use of the tagline `"yeh dil mange no more."

Pepsi's advertising is handled here by Hindustan Thompson Associates, while the Leo Burnett Co. works on the Thums Up account. -- From our India correspondent
