PepsiCo said net income for the second quarter, ended June 15, hit $583 million, up 20% over the year-ago period. Sales increased 6% to $7.7 billion. CEO Roger Enrico said the growth "reflects solid operating results in all three business segments and on both the domestic and international sides of the business. The company reported a 14% jump in Pepsi-Cola domestic profits; 11% pound growth for Frito-Lay; and double-digit same store sales growth at KFC.
