Pets.com marketing VP lands at airline site

Published on .

John Hommeyer, former VP-marketing at online pet supply retailer Pets.com, San Francisco, has joined Hotwire, a company creating a discount airline ticket sales site, as chief marketing officer. Pets.com doesn't plan to replace Mr. Hommeyer. Hotwire reportedly has minority investments from six major airlines, including United Air Lines, American Airlines and Northwest Airlines. The site is expected to launch this fall. Unlike Priceline.com, which lets consumers bid for airline tickets, Hotwire plans to allow customers to select from a list of discount fares.
