Philips goes to South Africa for ads

Published on .

Philips Consumer Electronics North America, Atlanta, will shoot four new TV spots in South Africa, part of a fourth-quarter ad campaign from Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, New York. Shooting runs Aug. 11-21 in Cape Town and Johannesburg. The 30-second spots, breaking in mid-October, will highlight Philips' personal TV recorder, 13-inch Somba TV, CD rewritable unit and digital wide-screen TV. Directing the commercials is Johannesburg native Keith Rose, who has worked on Philips advertising in the past.
