Phys.com is considering a move to put some of its content under paid subscription, said Phys.com's Editor in Chief Cassandra Markham Nelson, at adtech West in Los Angeles this week. Phys.com, owned by Advance Publication's CondeNet, has been testing paid programs and may have some paid content later this year, she said. Under the plans being tested, most of Phys.com would remain free, with only high-value-added areas being paid, she said. One possible consideration for a paid area is a weight-loss program area of the site, Ms. Nelson said.
