(July 24, 2001) -- Pickett Advertising has acquired its second shop in five months, adding Rd/FOX, a 6-year-old full-service agency.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The merger is the latest in a string of consolidations among San Francisco-area agencies.

Rd/FOX had $30 million in billings with clients such as Robertson Stephens, The Oakland Raiders, Pearl Vodka and Broderbund Software, according to executives at the agencies.

Pickett earlier this year purchased Winkler Advertising, gaining clients such as 21st Century Insurance. Other key accounts at the agency include Longs Drug Stores.

Pickett president Jack Boland said Rd/FOX's CEO Robert DeStefano will join the agency's management team in an unspecified position. -- Alice Z. Cuneo
