Pillsbury Co., Minneapolis, is preparing to announce a restructuring that will reorganize the company along category rather than brand lines. Four divisions are being created, for shelf-stable foods, frozen foods, breakfast and snacks, replacing groups devoted to a single brand such as Green Giant and Haagen-Dazs. Pillsbury also has tapped a pair of European executives to head two of the divisions, one from Pillsbury's operations there and the other from Frito-Lay. Separately, Pillsbury said it would now conduct an outside search to fill the post of chief marketing officer, after the U.S. District Court ruling this week that blocked former Campbell Soup Co. executive Robert Desatnick from taking the post.
