PointCast reorganizes management

PointCast announced several changes April 8 in its ad management team. Douglas Boake, former VP of PointCast International, has been named senior VP-sales. Mr. Boake replaces Anna Zornosa, senior VP-ad sales and affiliate development, who will become chief operating officer of start-up NetWeb Corp.

In addition, Lisa Gerould has been promoted to VP-advertiser marketing and brand development from director of advertiser marketing and Don Albert, VP-affiliate development, has been promoted to VP-strategic sales and affiliate development. Kristy Newton will continue as managing director-advertising sales.

Mr. Boake outlined several new initiatives for PointCast including forming a PointCast advertising council to share research with senior management in the online ad industry. He also said PointCast was testing "daypart" ads, which are ads scheduled to appear during relevant time periods.

Why the expanded sales team? "We realized there are many components to sales," Mr. Boake said. "It's the 30-second commercial; it's also larger sponsorships and e-commerce opportunities."
