PointCast's Hassett gives up CEO post

Published on .

Christopher Hassett, chairman-CEO and founder of Internet broadcast company PointCast, this week is expected to relinquish the CEO post. A search for a new CEO is under way. Insiders said the move is an acknowledgement that PointCast, which broadcasts news and information to computer desktops, needs a CEO with more experience running a large media company; Mr. Hassett is said to have made the decision himself. PointCast Monday unveils the next version of its software.
