PointCast on Wednesday announced a 150% increase in local, regional and special interest advertisers from the fourth quarter 1996 to the first quarter 1997. In the first quarter alone, more than 25 national and local advertisers purchased 53 commercials on PointCast's channels. PointCast's affiliate channels consist of partnerships with 11 daily newspapers and six special interest publishers including the Los Angeles Times
