Poland's biggest newspaper goes online

Media company Agora, publisher of Poland's largest national daily paper Gazeta Wyborcza, has launched the first stage of its new Internet portal (www.Gazeta.pl).

An official launch is scheduled for late Febru-ary, accompanied by a full-scale ad campaign. The company refuses to give details of the bud-get or media plans at this stage.

The new portal contains a search engine and news directly from Gazeta Wyborcza. Other services yet to arrive are e-mail and e-commerce.

Gazeta Wyborcza is Poland's largest national daily, with a circulation of about 461,000.
