Poll finds many dislike smoking plan

The Associated Press is reporting that a poll it conducted found significantpublic opposition to some of President Clinton's proposals to cut underagesmoking. AP said 53% oppose the plan to restrict some cigarette ads to black &white text ads, and 58% oppose a ban on the use of tobacco brand names insporting events. However, 73% percent support the proposal that the tobaccoindustry be required to spend $150 million a year on a campaign to discourageteen-age smoking.
