A recent online poll and informal survey by NetCreations shows support for requiring marketers to let consumers opt-in before sending commercial e-mail messages. A February poll on the company's PostMasterDirect.com site found 80% of 5,500 respondents supported legislation requiring marketers get consumers' permission before sending marketing messages via e-mail. Marketers surveyed during a recent Internet marketing show also favored opt-in as the best way to reach consumers. NetCreations manages and rents e-mail lists.
