General Motors Corp.'s Pontiac brand, Detroit, kicks off a national TV spring sales promotion tonight with spots offering special deals on all models as part of its 75th anniversary. Bcom3 Group's D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, Troy, Mich., handles. The spot shows a woman next to a Pontiac; both change in appearance from one decade to the next starting from the 1970s. When the spot reaches the present, she's with a specific vehicle and its special promotion. The deals run through April 30.

The brand's sales in the first two months of 2001 slid to 85,641 units from 98,510 the same period a year ago, says Automotive News.
