Pontiac-GMC picks seven shops

Published on .

General Motors Corp.'s year-old Pontiac-GMC division whittled its list of select dealer group agencies from 13 to 7 shops. They are: MacManus Group's Alliance for Automotive Marketing, Troy, Mich.; Terry Butz Creative, Waterloo, Iowa; Graham Group, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Martin Advertising, Birmingham, Ala.; Nichols Media Consultants, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Roberts & Russell, Knoxville, Tenn.; and McCann-Erickson's newly formed SAS Partners, Troy, Mich. The original 13 shops had previously serviced either Pontiac or GMC dealer groups before the two GM divisions were conolidated. The seven survivors will service Pontiac-GMC dealer group spending estimated at $100 million a year.
