Portland shop creates guide to online stories

Published on .

Internet developer CyberSight, Portland, Ore., launched StoryWeb, an online directory that reviews and rates story sites on the Web. StoryWeb divides reviews into nine genres: adventure/thriller, children, comedy, horror, suspense, off-beat, real world, sci-fi and soap/romance, and provides detailed directory listings for each site including premise, characters and production information.

"With the popularity of original entertainment content on the Internet on the rise, we felt that what was missing was a credible, codified guide to the best sites," said Peter Bray, CEO and creative director at CyberSight. Although advertising may play a role in the future on StoryWeb, at launch the site is advertiser free.
