Power play: SBC bought Pacific Telesis last year-merging the two largest states' territories under one umbrella-and now Mr. Morgan has his hands full of brands-Southwestern Bell, Pac Bell, Nevada Bell and Cellular One. Supposed merger talks with AT&T fell through, but SBC seems to have shaken it off.
