Deutsche Bank Analyst Increases Forecast for TV, Radio

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Another Wall Street analyst upgraded his ad revenue forecast, adding to already positive calls for an early recovery among broadcast media.

Deutsche Bank broadcast analyst Andrew Marcus said the "advertising recovery continues to build momentum" for TV and radio.

his projection for broadcast TV and cable TV to 1.8% and 0.3% growth, respectively. He previously forecast drops of 0.5% for broadcast TV and 0.3% in cable.

Radio, he predicted, will grow by 3.5%, vs. his previous estimate of 1.4%, but outdoor revenue will shrink by 2%, instead of 1.1% growth, as he had once estimated.

Based on the new estimates, U.S. advertising will grow by 1% in 2002, as opposed to an earlier forecast of a 0.9% drop for the year.
