Prepaid phone cards via ATM

Published on .

Ameritech and Cash Station will jointly market prepaid calling cards beginning next January. Initially, consumers can use their Cash Station ATM cards at 250 automated teller machines in the Chicagoland area to purchase a calling card valued at between $10 and $50. The prepaid calling card number will be printed on an ATM receipt, for consumers to use when placing telephone calls. Local or long distance charge will be 40 cents per minute. The calling card option will be promoted with point of purchase materials at Cash Stations participating in the venture with a possible ad campaign to follow.
