Intel Corp. is under attack, as the Federal Trade Commission filed antitrust charges saying the chip giant illegally withheld technical information from customers and rivals. Intel's "monopoly" is slipping: Half the top 10 PC makers now buy some rival chips. Slowing PC growth, muted response to cheap chip Celeron and delays in the upcoming Merced chip have helped send Intel's stock tumbling. Intel is counting on new agency Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, New York, to help.
