Profound introduces Web business database

Published on .

Business data service Profound on Thursday introduced Profound for the Internet, a database of news from more than 4,000 newspapers, periodicals and wire services; financial reports; analyst research reports; and stock briefings. The service can also provide custom news by e-mail as well as a personal investment portfolio.

Profound employs a search engine called InfoSort that the company claims is more precise than engines used by Yahoo, InfoSeek and other Internet search services.
