Computer software and media companies with a strong Web presence are launching a major public service advertising campaign urging parents to use Internet screening controls for their kids. Disney Online President Jake Winebaum said today the campaign will feature TV stars and that both ABC and Time Warner will provide free time and space for the spots and print ads starting this spring. It is not yet known who will produce the ads. The campaign will also include related activities from companies including Microsoft Corp. and AT&T Corp.
