PSINet goofs on 800-number

A recent direct mail piece for Internet access service Pipeline distributed by parent company PSINet erroneously printed an 800 number that led customers to a promotion for a 1-900 phone sex line. A PSINet spokeswoman said the service was working to repair damages; the correct number on the mailing should have used PSINet's Virginia area code. The access service reached the 100,000 customer mark at the beginning of March.
