Publicis acquires medical agency

Published on .

Publicis Groupe, Paris, acquired U.S.-based medical agency Nelson Communications, New York, as expected. The acquisition brings to Publicis more than $1 billion in new annual billings. Publicis didn't disclose financial terms of the deal, rumored to be worth $200 million, but it said it will acquire 100% of privately held Nelson. The renamed Nelson Communications Worldwide merges Nelson's operations with Publicis' existing healthcare divisions, including Saatchi & Saatchi Healthcare, Klemtner Advertising and Publicis Wellcare.
