Publicis-BCP chief to open new agency for federal clients

Published on .

MONTREAL -- Yves Gougoux, president and chief executive of Publicis-BCP, the agency formed when the French Publicis bought a 70% stake in BCP Canada Inc of Montreal last week, is to spin off a separate 100% Canadian-owned shop to service federal clients.

Government accounts such as Canada Post, Dairy Farmers of Canada and Canada Mortgage and Housing, which were held by BCP, will only do business with Canadian-owned agencies. The new agency will be known as BCP Canada.

None of BCP's 180 jobs, including 33 in Toronto, are lost as a result of the takeover.
