Publicis billings increase

Publicis Group, Paris, reported billings grew 15.9% in the second quarter compared to the same period last year. Billings for the network grew to $1.965 billion by June 30, from $1.696 billion in the same period in 1996. The amount includes accounts gained through acquisitions and accounts transferred between Publicis and True North Communications as a result of the breakup of the joint venture between the two companies; net of those accounts, Publicis' billings grew 6% during the same time period.
