The new company will be called Zenith Optimedia Group, and it claims billings of more than $17 billion, which means that it would come fourth on Advertising Age's list of top media specialist companies, just behind Interpublic Group of Cos.' Universal McCann and above Bcom3 Group's Starcom MediaVest Worldwide.
John Perriss, chairman-CEO of Zenith Media Holdings, was named CEO of the new worldwide organization, while Simon Lloyd, formerly chairman of Optimedia, was named deputy chairman of Zenith Optimedia Group and CEO Europe.
In other appointments, Rich Hamilton, previously CEO of Zenith Media the Americas, was named chief executive of Zenith Optimedia Group the Americas. Antony Young, formerly CEO of Zenith Media Asia, was named CEO of the Zenith Optimedia Group Asia. Adrian Sayliss, previously the chief financial officer for Zenith Media Holdings, will hold the same title with the new company. All executive positions will report to Mr. Perriss.
"The new company will help build on our ability to deliver excellence to our clients," said Mr. Hamilton. "We are all energized here as 2002 approaches."
According to Mr. Hamilton, the company will be officially referred to by its full name and never its acronym, ZOG.
