The agency will no longer exist, although its name will be used in small ways for a short period of time, said several Publicis executives familiar with the situation.
An internal announcement is expected Monday, the same day Publicis meets with analysts to discuss its new organizational structure after completing a merger with Bcom3 Group, D'Arcy's former parent.
It is not known which Publicis agencies will take on D'Arcy's clients, which include Procter & Gamble Co.; General Motors Corp.'s Cadillac and Pontiac brands and Heineken.
D'Arcy did not return calls by press time.
The news comes after widespread speculation that D'Arcy would be the first victim of consolidation under the new Publicis.
