Publicis Groupe’s billings jump

After a year of acquisitions, Publicis Groupe reported 2000 billings of $11 billion, up 72% from 1999, including four months of financial results from Saatchi & Saatchi. Excluding Saatchi, growth was 48%. Publicis said organic growth was 15%, up from 12% in 1999. By region, Europe's growth was slowest at 14%, just under the U.S. at 15%. Growth in the rest of the world was 20%. In addition to buying Saatchi, Publicis also acquired U.S. agency Fallon, U.K.-based healthcare comunications group Nelson Communications and U.S. marketing services agency Frankel.
