Holding Company Says Revenue Increased 37.5%

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Publicis Groupe reported an 18% increase in net profit to $131 million for 2001.

Revenue increased by 37.5%, to $2.1 billion from the previous year, on billings of $14.6 billion, up 41.2%.

In an earlier announcement about 2001 revenue on Feb. 12, the French holding company said that organic growth was 3.1%.

In 2001, Saatchi & Saatchi and Nelson Communications full-year earnings were included for the first time for the full year.

Publicis said net new business in 2001 totaled $2.3 billion.
