Slight Increase Attributed to European Business

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Despite flat revenue growth in the U.S., Publicis Groupe managed to post a slight increase in revenues during the third quarter, thanks to new business gains of $349 million.

The French holding company reported today that third-quarter revenues of $528 million, an organic growth rate of 1.6% over the same time period last year. Revenues for the first nine months of 2001 were $1.56 billion, an organic growth rate of 4.2%.

North America, which makes up 44.3% of Publicis' revenue, showed no organic growth in the first nine months, while Europe, which contributes an equal percentage of revenue, was up 8.3%.
