Publicis wins $50 mil euro bank business

The European Central Bank awarded Publicis its $50 million account to prepare Europeans for a single currency, due in January 2002. The euro became the official currency of 12 European countries in January, but doesn't yet exist in the form of coins and banknotes. Publicis pitched against Young & Rubicam, working with Burson-Marsteller, and J. Walter Thompson Co., with Hill & Knowlton.
