Qualcomm review cut to two

Published on .

Wireless phone marketer Qualcomm, San Diego, named two finalists for its estimated $20 million review: Wieden & Kennedy, Portland, Ore., and Fallon McElligott, Minneapolis. Two other contenders-- TBWA Chiat/Day, Venice, Calif., and incumbent DGWB, Irvine, Calif.--have apparently dropped out. Qualcomm officials wouldn't comment on the two departures. The company said consultant Jack McBride & Associates, Modesto, Calif., was brought in to do some specific and limited work on the review. A decision is expected in June.
