Published on .

QVC took more than $1.5 million in advance orders for Microsoft's Windows 95 in a two-hour special last Saturday. QVC's "buy-anytime" policy, allowing customers to place orders outside of the scheduled on-air program time, sold more than 17,000 units over the weekend, marking a QVC record in software sales. QVC also attracted more than 2,000 new customers during the Microsoft special. Orders pre-booked through QVC will be held for delivery in conjunction with the Windows 95 August 24 release date.
