USA, New York, to handle its national and local TV broadcast buying assignment. Prior to the merger of U S West and Qwest this summer, Cash Plus, Minneapolis, handled U S West's media buying, while MindShare, New York, had Qwest's media buying. J. Worldwide, Chicago, oversees Qwest's wireless and mass channel efforts. Qwest spent $21 million in measured media in 1999, while U S West spent $109 million, according to Competitive Media Reporting.
