Rainmaker Interactive acquires S3 Web design and ad agency

Rainmaker Interactive, Reston, Va., is acquiring Smith Smith & Smith, a Web design and advertising agency, Manhattan Beach, Calif. With the acquisition, S3 will be renamed Rainmaker West and serve as the company's platform for expansion into the western U.S. Established in 1989, S3 is a creative-driven advertising agency specializing in reaching active-lifestyle and motorsports consumers; clients include Kawasaki Motorcycles, General Motors Corp. (Buick and Pontiac, Western Region), GT Bicycles and Motorcycle Industry Council. Scott Goodwin, previously VP at S3, will become senior VP-director of client services at Rainmaker West.
