Rare Medium loses its chief financial officer

Jeffrey Kaplan, chief financial officer at Rare Medium, New York, is leaving the company to pursue other business opportunities, the company said. Craig Chesser, VP-finance and treasurer, and Michael Hultberg, VP and controller, will share the responsibilities handled by Mr. Kaplan. Rare Medium reported a net loss of $42.2 million for the fourth quarter of 2000, more than double the net loss of $20.2 million from the year-ago quarter. For the year ended 2000, Rare Medium reported a net loss of $124.7 million, a 152% increase in losses from 1999, when its year-end net loss totaled $49.4 million.
