Raytheon sells Amana

Raytheon Co., Lexington, Mass., plans to sell its Amana home appliances, heating and air conditioning, and commercial cooking units to Goodman Holding Co., Houston, for $550 million. Raytheon, which entered the home appliance market in 1946 with the invention of the microwave oven, retains its Speed Queen commercial laundry unit, although it plans to sell that group.
