RDA makes Web move

Reader's Digest Association on Tuesday will announce it has acquired a majority stake in Melbourne-based LookSmart, a new search engine set to launch on the Web on Oct. 28. Reader's Digest will also launch a site called Reader's Digest World on the same date; it will contain original as well as repurposed content from the magazine. Brian Cowley, formerly director of business development at Netscape Communications Corp., will be VP-ad sales for both Reader's Digest World and LookSmart.
