Record ad spending in Japan

Published on .

Dentsu announced that gross advertising expenditures in Japan for 1996 beat 1991's record performance. A 6.3% rise continued the growth seen in the latter half of 1994 and in 1995, Dentsu reported, which followed a slip in expenditure in both 1992 and 1993. Total spending on advertising in Japan last year amounted to $46.8 billion, compared with $46.4 billion in 1991, the previous record.
