Replay raises $85 million for interactive TV

ReplayTV, a Mountain View, Calif., maker of a personal TV device, said it raised $84.9 million from media, consumer electronics and ad agency companies. Investors include Grey Advertising, Interpublic Group of Companies and Omnicom Group; News Corp. and Seagram Co.'s Universal Media Group; cable companies Adelphia Communications, Comcast Corp. and Vulcan Ventures; satellite TV service EchoStar Communications; Excite@Home; and Matsushita Kotobuki Electronics Industries, Motorola, Rogers Communications, Scientific-Atlanta, Sega Enterprises, Sharp Electronics and Shaw Communications. Replay's device lets consumers control and interact with television.
