At a time when news accounts of crazed gunmen on the rampage have become commonplace, it's amazing the agency was able to sell this concept. A guy getting ready to go on a run in a crowded public park is approached by two Finish Line employees. They hammer a sprinter's starting block into the ground, help the runner get his feet set into it, then fire off a starter's pistol. Pandemonium breaks loose as people dive for cover and children scream. The closing tag says, "Maybe we love runners too much." Maybe these guys love runners so much they've lost their minds. Nonetheless, the spot is funny, memorable and devoid of the usual in-your-face attitude associated with sports apparel.
