Revamp at Discovery

Discovery Communications, parent company of The Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel, restructured its top management ranks, establishing a three-person management team underneath Chairman-CEO John Hendricks. Judith McHale becomes president-chief operating officer, from exec VP-corporate services and general counsel; Gregory Moyer becomes president and chief editorial and creative officer, from president of Discovery Networks and Worldwide Programming; and Gregory Durig remains exec VP and chief financial officer. All three report to Mr. Hendricks.

Katz forms new group
Katz Radio Group, New York, will form its seventh sales rep firm, Sentry Radio Sales, in January. Sentry, opening with two client groups and expected to gross approximately $65 million in its first year, was formed because Katz's other firms are near capacity. Bob McCurdy, president of Katz Radio, will become Sentry president.
