Revlon, has requested proposals from several agencies to outsource its advertisising. Many of the functions of the company's in-house agency, Tarlow Advertising, were absorbed into its marketing department last month after the departure of founder Richard Tarlow. Revlon said in a statement that four finalists will compete for the account and a decision is due in February 2001. Revlon has been changing its marketing efforts and reducing its ad budget over the past year as part of an overhaul of the company. Management had begun to farm out its $100 million account last month, when it hired Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners and Laspata/DeCaro to handle new ad efforts. Kirshenbaum will participate in the review.
