Riney settles lawsuit with former employee

Published on .

Hal Riney & Partners has settled a bitter lawsuit brought by former executive creative director Peter Murphy, who charged he was fraudulently induced into quitting his job and giving up his right to more than $1 million from an agency sale. No details of the settlement, expected to be filed next week with San Francisco Superior Court, were revealed. Mr. Murphy, currently exec VP-senior creative director at Young & Rubicam, New York, was unavailable for comment, but his attorney said he was very pleased with the pending agreement.
